Silver & Gilt Egg Revealing a Gilt Foliate Spray Brooch which carries hallmarks for Birmingham 1977 and the extra Jubilee mark and makers marks of F which are for Franklin Mint (“limited edition keepsakes”). There is also another set of marks to the left of the hallmarks but I am afraid that I although they are quite clear I have no idea what they mean or even try to describe them.

Dimensions: The measurements of the actual egg are 3 inches tall and just over 2 inches wide at its wides middle point. The pretty floral spray brooch measures approximately 2 inches long and 1.25 inches wide at its widest point. The total weight of the egg is 6.75oz (181g).
Condition: This lovely item comes complete with its original green box which is lined with black velvet and is in good clean condition.
Remarks: This egg is in the manner of Stuart Devlin, the hinged lid opening to reveal a green enamel and flowerhead decorated interior, holding a gilt folitate spray brooch which looks like snowdrops. There are two clear stones inset into the leaves which could be diamonds but I am not 100% sure. The brooch is also hallmarked with the lion passant and the date letter “C”.
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
