It is rectangular in shape and has 3 winged cherubs embossed on the lid and then to the sides there is an embossed pattern of leaves and stems and then in the middle of the two long sides is another cherub. When the hinged lid is opened it reveals a gilt interior.

The decorative cut glass includes flowers and the body has a nipped in middle giving it a spool shape. The lovely circular solid silver lid has a very pretty powder blue enamal covering the whole of the lift off lid apart from the silver circular finial. The underside of the lid is gilt so it oozes quality.

It has a silver holder which has 4 ball feet and into this sits the glass rectangular box which has a white metal rim and hinged lid. The lid is very pretty with cut off corners and an embossed floral decoration in the bottom right hand corner. The stand and the lid do have 2 hallmarks, but I cannot make them out.

The silver lid has a pretty floral engraved decoration border around the side and a circular cartouche in the centre with a pattern inside (I think it is too fancy to be initials and if it is I cannot make them out). The ribbed glass jar has a silver gilt collar and inside is a lift out silver gilt powder bowl. The inside of the lid is also silver gilt.
