Silver Box For Jewellery Or Dressing Table. It is of a good size and I can best describe it as a short cylindrical shape. It has a raised line decoration where the hinged lid meets the body and also around the base. The hinged lid has a mirror on the inside and the base has a gilt interior. It is made from a good guage of silver and is of a very good weight. The edge of the lid does have the lion passant and date letter which are very clear, but the full set of hallmarks on the body are a bit rubbed.

Dimensions: 3.75 inches in diamter and just under 2 inches tall. It weighs 363g but this includes the mirror in the lid and I cannot confirm if the base is in fact weighted
Condition: It does have a few little shallow dings to the middle, but these can be felt more than seen and there are a couple of little pin prick dings to the lid. but again these are minor and only really noticed on close inpsection. It does have some very light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item and is commensurate with age and use and again is minor
Remarks: This is a very good and substantial dressing table/jewellery box that would look impressive on any dressing table to store items of jewellery, trinkets, nik naks, hair accessories etc. It would also make a very good box for storing cufflinks
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
