If you enjoy coffee then you will love to own a silver coffee pot. Coffee was discovered in the early 14th Century but did not come to England until the 16th Century. Interestingly it was not London but Oxford that saw it first with the opening of the first coffee shop there in 1650 called “The Angel”. Coffee drinking soon spread to London and fast became part of social culture.

Chocolate as a beverage arrived in England much later and was seen as a drink for the upper class as it was more expensive. Early “Chocolate Houses” were frequented by the elite and upper class and often MP’s. One even became a Private Club for the Tories called the Cocoa tree Club. Chocolate Pots were often made with side handles and a spout further up the body. Some also had a hole in the top hidden by a folding finial where a stirring sick could be inserted as the chocolate tended to thicken in the bottom of the pot.

Whatever your preference serving the beverage of your choice can only be enhanced by the purchase of a quality silver item.
