Coffee Pot Silver Hallmarks Birmingham 1919.
It is of a pear shape and has a hinged lid which has a ball finial and it has a raised circular base. It has an elegant shaped spout and a wooden question mark shaped handle. It is made from a good guage of silver and is therefore of a good weight. The hallmarks on the body are a bit rubbed but can just about be read, except for the makers marks which are completely rubbed except for the last letter, however the the two marks stamped in the lid being the lion passant and the date letter are very clear

Makers Marks: The only letter I can make out is the last letter “S”
Dimensions: 5.75 inches wide from spout to handle, and 6 inches tall. The actual body is 3 inches in diameter at its widest base point, the base is 2 inches in diameter It holds 1/2 pint (10 fl oz) and it weighs 271g
Condition: It is in very good condition, except that if you look closely there is a shallow dent to the base of the spout to one side, but on first glance you would not notice it, and only really noticed on close inspection and does not detract in any way from this lovely little coffee pot. It does also have some light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is commensurate with age and use
Remarks: This really is a sweet little solid silver coffee pot, and ideal for one person. When not in use makes a lovely display item
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
