Antique Silver Fish Servers. The front of the solid silver blade of the fish slice has a lovely engraved scroll, leaf and flower pattern which is also on the solid silver base of the fork under the prongs. Both of the solid silver collars are also very decorative with an embossed pattern (the backs of both pieces are plain). They each then have a lovely mother of pearl handle which is squared off at the end. This set comes complete in its original fitted burgundy lined case. They are made from a good guage of silver and each have clear hallmarksfor SHEFFIELD 1860/61 (The fork date letter “f” the knife date letter “e” with Silver Makers Marks: C.W.F (Fletcher & Son Ltd – Charles William Fletcher) The collars are marked with HG
The slice is 10.5 inches long in total, the solid silver blade and collar is 7.25 inches long. The fork is 8 inches long in total with the solid silver prongs, neck and collar being 5 inches long
Both items are in very good condition with no damage to the mother of pearl handles. The case too is in very good condition inside and having just a couple of little areas of wear to the outside cover, but this is very very minor
This really is a lovely cased antique solid silver Victorian 149 year old pair of fish slice and fork and a must for any fish eater.
