Cased Pair of Silver and Bone Handled Fish Servers. The silver blade, silver prongs and neck of the fork and both collars are fully hallmarked. The blade of the slice has a pretty scroll engraved pattern to the shaped side with just a little engraved pattern to the base corner of the other side. There is an indented lined decoration which follows the shape of the outline of the whole of the blade (the back is plain). Just underneath the 4 prongs of the fork, there is an engraved shield shape pattern which has a little engraved scroll pattern in the middle of each side (again the back is plain). Both the silver collars have a lined decoration. Both the slice and the fork have bone handles (I think). They come in their original blue lined fitted case

Makers Marks: JD WD (James Deakin & Sons – John & William F Deakin) for the blade of the slice and prongs and neck of the fork, J.A.S (JA Scholes) on the collars on both
Dimensions: The Slice 10.5 inches long in total, the silver blade and collar 6.5 inches long. The Fork 8.5 inches long in total, the silver prongs, neck and collar just under 4.75 inches
Condition: Both pieces are in very good condition with just some very light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with age and use. The box too is in very good condition inside with just a little wear to the outer covering, but this is minor
Remarks: A very nice cased pair of silver and bone handled fish servers, and a must for any fish lover
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
