American Sterling Silver Bon Bon Dish. It is circular in shape with a highly decorative wide rim having 5 pairs of raised embossed flowers (which are quite raised) and then the other 5 sections have a pierced lattice pattern. The sides and the base are plain
Identifying Marks: It is stamped “Sterling 6843″ and then has a winged animal – possibly a griffin and the letter W” confirming that the makers are Whiting Manufacturing Co and date it to pre 1926
Dimensions: Just under 5.75 inches in diameter, 1 inch tall and it weighs 65g
Condition: Overall it is in very good condition, with just a couple of little pin prick dings to the plain base, but these are very very minor
Remarks: A very pretty and highly decorative American sterling silver bon bon dish, which makes a lovely display item when not being used. It would ideal for serving little chocolates, small sweets, nuts or olives and it would make a pretty impressive little dish to place in the centre of a table for dinner guests to put their olive stones or similar stones in.
