Antique Silver Comport

Antique Silver Comport. It is very decorative and has lobed sides having an embossed and pierced pattern. There are 4 raised embossed blank cartouches in four of the panels which are surrounded by an embossed scroll pattern and then having an embossed floral border. Then in the other four panels there is a very decorative embossed bunch of flowers to the top. The rest of the sides have a cross shape pierced decoration and the wavy rim has an embossed scroll pattern. It has a short circular pedestal base. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks

Makers Marks: J.D & S (James Dixon & Sons Ltd)

Dimensions: 8 inches in diameter, 2.5 inches tall and the diameter of the base is just under 3 inches. It weighs 219g

Condition: It is in very good condition

Remarks: This really is a very pretty antique solid silver comport and ideal for a table centre or sideboard as a display item or filled with small fruits, bon bons, chocolates, nuts, pot pourri etc,
