Antique Silver Rose Bowl. It has a very pretty decorative embossed ribbon and bell shape flower garland surrounding the body. It is lovely and deep with a spreading pedestal base. In addition to the usual hallmarks it is also stamped on the base “Mappin & Webb”
Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM
Date: 1909
Makers Marks: MN & WB (Mappin & Webb)
Dimensions: 8.25 inches in diameter and 5.25 inches tall. it weighs 529g
Condition: It is in very good condition apart from some scratching to the inside which is only to be expected on a useable metal item and some pin prick dings to the base and a couple of little dings on the rim, but all of this is very minor
Remarks: This is a very pretty antique very useable solid silver deep rose bowl that would look impressive as a centre piece on any table perhaps filled with fruit. It would also make a lovely serving bowl (imagine a tower of profiteroles!”) or it would make a good little punch or soup bowl. A very pretty item that will also be of particular interest to collectors of Mappin & Webb

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
