Antique William IV Silver Two Handled Sugar Bowl. It is of a compressed circular shape and has a cable girdle and has a raised circular base rim. It has two question mark shaped and it has a gilt interior. It is is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks. It does have an engraved armorial of what I can best describe as a mythical dog, but this is quite small and hardly noticed
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1833/34
Makers Marks: CF (Charles Thomas Fox)
Dimensions: 6.5 inches wide from handle to handle, 5 inches in diameter and 3.75 inches tall. It weighs 227g
Condition: Overall it is in very good condition, but it does have a couple of very very minor shallow dents to the body and a couple of little pin prick dings in the cable girdle, but all of these are only really noticed on very close inspection.
Remarks: This is a very good antique solid silver large two handled sugar bowl which oozes quality with its gilt interior. I do also have the matching milk jug listed in the cream/milk jug section of my ebay shop, so if you would like the matching pair then please do not miss it.
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
