This is a very Good and Heavy Antique Victorian Solid Silver 2 Handled Dish. It is circular in shape and has deep lobed sides and two oval shaped decorative handles. This shaped dish is also known as a Strawberry Dish. It is made from a good guage of silver and therefore is a good weight

Assay Office: LONDON

Date: 1900/1901

Makers Marks: C.S over H (Charles Stuart Harris) the letter “H” is a bit rubbed but you can just about make it out

Dimensions: Just under 7 inches in diameter, 9 inches wide including the handles and 2 inches tall. It weighs 284g

Condition: It is in very good condition with just some very light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item but this is very minor. There are also a few little discolouration spots but again this is very minor

Remarks: A very good antique Victorian 112 year old solid silver 2 handled dish, ideal for use as a small fruit bowl, bon bons etc. It would also make a lovely serving dish for vegetables, cream, fruit and of course particularly strawberries

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
