Dish Victorian Silver Hallmarks Sheffield 1892
This is a beatiful Antique Solid Silver Victorian Dish. It is what I can best describe as a diamond shape with rounded ends and it is profusely embossed with flowers and scrolls. The whole of the dish is embossed with just the central area being plain. It has a fluted crimped rim and it has clear hallmarks. It is made from a good guage of silver and is quite heavy and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: SHEFFIELD
Date: 1892/93
Makers Marks: WPD
Dimensions: 12.25 inches long, 8.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall. It weighs 441g
Condition: It is in very good condition with just some minor discolouration spots to the plain centre
Remarks: This really is a very pretty and highly decorative antique Victorian solid silver 117 year old dish that would look impressive as a table centre piece and perhaps filled with fruit, or it would make a lovely serving dish and when not in use a beautiful display item
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”
