Silver Pedestal Fruit Bowl Comport. It has a very pretty and decorative lattice and scroll piercing to the sides and has an unulating rim. It has a large inverted trumpet shape pedestal base. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM
Date: 1912/13
Makers Marks: W.A (William Aitken)
Dimensions: 8 inches in diameter, 6 inches tall and the base diameter is just over 4.25 inches. It weighs 371g
Condition: It is in very good condition with just some very light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with age and use
Remarks: This really is a good size solid silver pedestal fruit bowl/comport that would look impressive in the centre of any table or sideboard filled with fruit. It would also make a super serving dish and ideal for a tower of profiteroles etc
Oversesas Purchasers please note: Due to the value of this item, I am having to limit this to UK purchasers only
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
Non EU buyers are reminded they are liable for any local customs duties or tax
