Silver Plated Lidded Breakfast Dish with Two Handled Warming Stand

Large, Impressive and Very Heavy Silver Plated Lidded Breakfast Dish with Two Handled Warming Stand. It has a gadrooned pattern around the inner serving dish, and gardrooned pattern around the top part of the lid, and when the lid is turned over to use as another serving dish the rim also has this gardrooned pattern. It has a very decorative and ornate circular handle and an embossed pattern to the lid where the handle slots in. The impressive warming stand has 4 large claw feet which have embossed foliate tops that run around the rounded corners of the lined thick base rim. It has two chunky scroll loop handles which have an embossed lined, and floral pattern. It has a copper base which has holes in it to let the steam up to warm the inner tray once filled with hot water, allowing the food to be kept warm. To the front of the lid there is a shield shape which has an engraved armorial of a Griffin/Mythical bird holding something in its beak.

Although there are no marks on it anywhere it has to be Victorian or Georgian due to its weight and design and there are signs of plenty of use

Identifying Marks: There are none

Dimensions: 14.25 inches long including the handles. The actual size of the warming base is 11 inches long and just under 7.75 inches wide. It is 8.5 inches tall to the top of the handle, 6 inches tall with the handle. The inner tray measures 12 inches long and 9 inches wide and 2 inches tall. It weighs a whopping 3815g so I am afraid that I have to limit this to UK purchasers only

Condition: It has had lots of use and there are several small dings and dents to it and the inner tray does have some discolouration spots to it. There is also some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item and there is some minor plate loss on the rounded corners of the lid, but to be honest does it matter? This is a superb useable item that would look impressive displayed on any sideboard either in a private house, small hotel, guest house etc when not in use. But what an impressive and practical dish to serve breakfast which would certainly get the WOW factor
