This is a good Antique Silver Thimble Shape Beaker. It is plain in design and is of a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks except for the middle letter of the maker
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1908/09
Makers Marks: LAL (Louis Augusus Leins)
Dimensions: Just under 2.75 inches tall, the top diameter 2 inches and the diameter of the base just over 1.5 inches. It weighs 52g. It holds 1 fl oz (50 ml)
Condition: It is in good condition, but if I had to be extremely critical then I would say that the top rim is a little mis-shapen and not a perfect circle, but this is very minor
Remarks: This is a good antique solid silver beaker, either to drink out of or it would even make a sweet little vase for small posy of fresh or dried flowers and put in the centre of a table. It would also perhaps make a nice Christening present.
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
