Antique Georgian Silver Large Heavy Soup Ladle IMG 8534 300x264 Antique Georgian Silver Large & Heavy Soup LadleAntique Georgian Silver Large & Heavy Soup Ladle.  It has a fiddle pattern handle with the Old English pattern to the back.  It has a large deep oval shaped bowl and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks

Assay Office:    LONDON

Date:                1823/24

Makers Marks: WC (William Chawner II)

Dimensions:   12.75 inches long in total, the bowl 4 inches wide and 3.25 in depth, and 1.5 inches deep.  It weighs 225g

Condition:    It is in very good condition, apart from a little dent to the rim of the bowl (which you can just about see in the photograph) but this is minor.  There is also  some very light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item and is commensurate with age and use, but again  this is minor

Remarks:   This is a very good antique Georgian 188 year old  solid silver large and heavy soup ladle, not to be missed

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used.  Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark.  I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
