Antique Silver Sauce Ladle. It has a Fiddle pattern handle with the Old English pattern to the back and an oval shape bowl. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks. Although it has no Assay Office it can only be Exeter in conjunction with the date letter and makers mark. EXETER 1821/22 Silver Makers Marks: WW Possibly (William Welch Jnr or William Woodman) the marks for both these makers are very similar.
It measures 5 inches long in total, the bowl just over 1.5 inches wide and just under 1.25 inches in depth and the bowl is 0.5 inch deep. It weighs 24g.
It is in very good condition with just some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with age and use.
A very nice good antique Georgian solid silver sauce ladle that would look impressive to serve the cranberry, mint, horseraddish, apple, tartare sauce etc from a solid silver sauceboat (please see the ones that I have listed in the “Sauce Boat” section of my ebay shop.
