Silver Sauce Ladle. It has the Old English pattern to the back of the handle and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: SHEFFIELD
Date: 1912/1913
Makers Marks: MH & Co Ld (Martin Hall & Co Ltd)
Dimensions: Just over 4.75 inches long in total, the bowl 1.5 inches in diameter. It weighs 29g
Condition: Overall it is in good condition but there a some little dig marks to the bowl (but only noticed on close inspection) and it does have some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item but this is minor and commensurate with age and use
Remarks: A very good solid silver sauce ladle and ideal to serve any sauce from a solid silver sauce boat (please see the ones that I have listed in the sauce boat section of my ebay shop)
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
