This is a very good Solid Silver Mustard Pot. It is of a good size and is oval in shape. It has a lined decoration to the top and base rims and has a domed hinged lid which has a decorative finial. It has a leaf capped handle and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: SHEFFIELD
Date: 1931/32
Makers Marks: J.D & S (James Dixon & Sons Ltd)
Dimensions: 4 inches long including the handle, 1.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall to the top of the finial. The silver 88g (without the glass liner)
Condition: It is in very good condition with just very light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with age and use
Remarks: A very good solid silver mustard pot that would look impressive on any table
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
