This is a very good Solid Silver Good Size Drum Mustard Pot. It has an attractive bar and diamond pierced decoration to the sides and a flame torch finial. It comes complete with its blue glass liner and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks.
Assay Office: CHESTER
Date: 1910/1011
Makers Marks: S.B & S.Ld (S Blanckensee & Sons Ltd)
Dimensions: 2.75 inches tall including the finial, 2 inches in diameter and 3 inches wide i ncluding the handle. The silver weighs 80g
Condition: It is in very good condition but the lid has been replaced and has hallmarks consisiting of the lion passant and the date letter “b” which denotes it is Birmingham and dated 1901/1902. Although it is not the original lid no-one would ever notice as it looks absoutely fine unless they spotted the different hallmarks.
Remarks: A very good solid silver good sized mustard pot that would look impressive on any table
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
