Cased Pair of Silver Napkin Rings Birmingham 1940. They are circular in shape and are plain apart from an embossed faceted pattern around the top and base rims. They are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks, except for the makers marks which are a bit rubbed. They come in a fitted black casket shaped box, which has a gold coloured border following the outline of the domed lid. The inside is divided into two so each ring sits in it its own little section.
Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM
Date: 1940/41
Makers Marks: FH (Francis Howard Ltd)
Dimensions: They are 1.5 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. They weigh a total of 28g
Condition: They are both in very good condition and so too is the box inside and out
Remarks: This really is a very good cased pair of solid silver napking rings, and if you did not want to keep them for yourself would make a lovely Engagement, Wedding, Silver Wedding or Christening present (particularly ideal for twins)
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
