Silver Salts Hallmarked London 1747 Georgian. They are a of a good size and are of a compressed plain circular shape with a lined decoration to the top rim. They each stand on 3 curved legs which have hoof feet and are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks (although they are clearer on one than the other), but the makers mark on both is completely rubbed. They do come with blue glass liners, but one is of a slightly different shape to the other one (although not noticed unless you take them both out), so I can only assume that one has been replaced at some time

Dimensions: 2.5 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches tall. They weigh a total of 119g (not including the liners)
Condition: They are both in very good condition but they do have some light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with their 264 years of age and use and also the insides are a little stained, but obviously this is not seen when the liners are in place
Remarks: This is a very good pair of antique Georgian solid silver good sized salts that would look impressive on any table. They could also be used as mustards or for small quantities of sauces, such as horseraddish, cranberry, mint, apple, tartare sauce etc. They will also make lovely additions to any collection of good Georgian antique silver
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
