Antique Georgian Silver Waiter

Antique Georgian Silver Waiter. It has a beaded decoration around the outer and the inner rim. It has an oval cartouche which is in the centre surrounded by engraved drapery and a bow. It does have very fancy entwined initials engraved in the cartouche which I think are either “AF” or “AJ”. It stands on 3 ball and claw feet. It is made of a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks

Makers Marks: R.R (Richard Rugg I)

Dimensions: 6 inches in diameter, 1 inch tall and it weighs 206g

Condition: The top rim is a little bit mis-shapen in places and there is some surface scratching. One of the claw and ball feet is bent inwards slightly, although it is very sturdy and the waiter does not wobble. The above is minor, but please bear in mind that this item is 230 years old

Remarks: This is a lovely antique Georgian solid silver waiter, ideal for displaying items of silver or it would make a super tray to stand underneath a solid silver sauce boat. There are still many many years of use left in this, and it will appreciate in value as the years roll on
