This is a very good Antique Solid Silver Georgian Small Salver. It is circular in shape and has a wavy rim which has a gadrooned edge. It has a pretty engraved scroll and leaf pattern which covers the whole of the base apart from a shaped cartouche in the centre. There are 2 very fancy engraved initials in this cartouche which I think are “AC”. It stands on 3 ball and claw feet and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1771/72
Makers Marks: I.C (It could be one of three makers, John Chapman II, John Cormick or Joan Cox, but I cannot confirm which one as there marks are identical)
Dimensions: 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. It weighs 387g
Condition: It is in very good condition
Remarks: This is a lovely antique Georgian 241 year old solid silver small salver, that would be ideal to display a small liqueuer decanter and glasses or would look very impressive to serve liqueuer or shot drinks to dinner guests. This really is a lovely piece of Georgian silver
Overseas Purchasers please note: Due to the value of this item, I am having to limit it to UK purchasers only
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
Non EU buyers are reminded they are liable for any local customs duties or tax
