Silver Art Deco Sauce Boat. It has a central panel running from the lip up to the handle to the inside and the outside. It has a rectangular shape (the two long sides slightly curved) pedestal foot and an Art Deco shaped handle. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM
Date: 1940/41
Makers Marks: WA (William Adams Ltd)
Dimensions: 5.75 inches long including the handle, 2.5 inches wide at its widest point and 2.75 inches tall to the top of the handle. It weighs 96g
Condition: It is in very good condition with just some light surface scratching, which is only to be expected on a metal item, but this is minor and commensurate with age and use
Remarks: A very good solid silver Art Deco sauce boat that would look impressive on any table to serve cranberry, mint, horseraddish, apple, tartare sauce etc. It would be complete with a solid silver sauce ladle, so please see the ones that I have listed in the “Ladle” section of my shop
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
