Christofle French Silver Plated Basting Spoon. It has a fiddle pattern handle which has a thread and shell decoration. On the reverse side of the handle it has an engraved fish entwined around an anchor.
Identifying Marks: There is a mark with scales and a “C” either side. Underneath is a spider. In a diamond shape is “55″ and then the Christofle mark
Dimensions: 10.5 inches long, the bowl is 3.5 inches long and 2 inches wide. It is of a good weight and weighs 4.5 oz (126g)
Condition: Overall it is in good condition but the bowl does have about 10 small pin pricks in one small area which are more noticeable from the underside. There are also a couple of little scratches, again to the underside commensurate with age and use, but this certainly does not detract from this very good spoon
