Antique Georgian Silver Caddy Spoon

antique georgian siver caddy spoonIMG 1322 300x153 Antique Georgian Silver Caddy SpoonAntique Georgian Silver Caddy Spoon. It is plain in design with a fiddle pattern handle which has a very faint Old English pattern to the back. It has a large balloon shape bowl. There is no Assay Office which was not always struck on old pieces but it can only be London in conjunction with the other marks which are very clear except for part of the “M” in the makers mark being a little rubbed

Assay Office: LONDON

Date: 1802

Makers Marks: MB (Moses Brent)

Dimensions: 3.5 inches long in total, the bowl being 1.75 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. It weighs 10g

Condition: Overall it is in good condition with just a shallow pin prick ding in the bowl and some very light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item but this is minor and commensurate with age and use

Remarks: A very good antique Georgian 208 year old solid silver caddy spoon and a nice addition to any collection

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
