Antique Silver Caddy Spoon. It is of an unusual leaf shape design which is on both sides of the bowl and is in great detail. It has a stem handle which forms a loop at the top. The hallmarks are clear on the handle but a little obscured on the actual bowl.
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1892/93
Makers Marks: JA & TS (James Alwinckle & Thomas Slater) I think, as the makers marks are a little obscured
Dimensions: 3.25 inches long in total, the bowl just over 2 inches long and just under 1.5 inches wide at its widest point. It weighs 10g
Condition: It is in very good condition, although the plain centre of the leaf looks a little dented, but I am not really sure if this is part of the pattern or not
Remarks: This is a very good and very pretty and unusual antique Victorian solid silver caddy spoon and a must for any collector
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
