This is a very good Solid Silver Caddy Spoon. It has a shell shaped pattern to the bowl with a decorative pattern around the front outline of the handle. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks although the middle letter in the makers is rubbed
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1971
Makers Marks: C (middle letter missing) V Ltd (Possibly C J Vander Ltd)
Dimensions: 3.65 inches long in total, the bowl 1.75 inches long and 1.25 inches wide at its widest point. It weighs 13g
Condition: It is in very good condition apart from a small dent in the handle where one of the hallmarks has been stamped on the reverse. This is however very minor
Remarks: A very good solid silver caddy spoon, ideal for use for scooping out real tea leaves from a solid silver tea caddy (please see the ones that I have listed) or a very nice addition to any collection
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
