Sifter Spoon Antique Silver Georgian . The shallow circular bowl has pretty cross and leaf shaped sifter holes and the plain handle has the Old English pattern to the back. It does have an engraved crest/armorial to the top of the front of the handle which is of a crown with a pattern above it, but I am afraid that I cannot make out what it is. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks except for the first letter of the makers mark is a bit rubbed. There is also no Assay office stamp, but it can only be London in conjunction with the other marks

Date: 1792/93

Makers Marks: GS over WF (George Smith III & William Fearn)

Dimensions: 4.5 inches long in total, the bowl being 1.5 inches in diameter and just under 0.5 inch deep. It weighs 22g

Condition: It is very good condition, apart from if you look very closely through a magnifying glass there is a little split in one of the leaf shaped sifter holes, but this is very very minor and does not detract in any way from this lovely Georgian sifter spoon

Remarks: This is a very good antique Georgian solid silver sifter, ideal for use or a very nice addition to any collection of Georgian silver
