6 Silver Spoons & Tongs Antique Silver Hallmarks Sheffield 1907
This is a very pretty Cased Set of 6 Solid Silver Spoons & Tongs. The spoons which could be used for either tea or coffee have pretty pierced floral terminals and the handles have a feather edge running around the outline to the front (the backs are plain). The tongs which have small bowls, also have the pierced floral pattern to the sides and the feather edge pattern. All pieces are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks. This lovely set comes in its fitted red box which has a blue velor interior in the base.

Dimensions: The spoons just over 4.5 inches long in total, the bowls 1.5 inches long and just under 1 inch wide at their widest point. The tongs are 4.25 inches long and the bowls are 0.75 inch long and just udner 0.5 inch wide at their widest point. The total weight of silver is 106g
Condition: The spoons and the tongs are all in very good condition. The red covering to the outside of the box is a little worn and stained, but the clasp is in good working order. The inside is in good condition, but as you can see in the photograph the cream lining to the inside of the lid does have some staining where it rests on the spoons, but all this is very minor
Remarks: A very good cased set of 6 very pretty solid silver spoons and tongs, and if you did not want to keep them for yourself, they would make a lovely Engagement, Wedding or Silver Wedding present
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
