Cased Pair of Antique Silver Preserve Spoons. They are very fancy and have flat bowls which have an engraved scroll, leaf and patterned border. The handles too are very decorative with an embossed decoration to the front and a shaped decorative terminal which have an oval blank cartouche in each one. The backs of the spoons are completely plain. They are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks. They come complete in their original maroon/burgundy lined box
Assay Office: SHEFFIELD
Date: 1893/94
Makers Marks: R & B (Roberts & Belk)
Dimensions: 5 inches long in total and the bowls are 1.75 inches long and 1.25 inches wide at their widest. They weigh a total of 31g
Condition: They are both in very good condition. The box too is in very good condition inside with just a little wear to the outside, but the clasp is in good working order and shuts tightly
Remarks: This really is a very pretty cased pair of antique solid silver Victorian preserve spoons and if you did not want to keep them for yourself would make a lovely Engagment, Wedding or Silver Wedding present
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
