Sugar Caster Hallmarks Birmingham 1911
This is a good Antique Silver Sugar Caster. It is of a baluster shape with a lined decoration to the middle and the top. It has large circular holes in the pull off lid which has a decorative finial. It has a spreading circular base which has a wooden underside.
Assay Office: BIRMINGHAM
Date: 1911
Makers Marks: W.A (William Aitken)
Dimensions: It is just under 6.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide. It weighs 120g
Condition: It is in good condition with just a couple of very minor dings to the rim of the base and a small ding to the inside rim but this is all very minor and hardly noticeable
Remarks: A very good solid silver sugar caster, ideal for use or a nice addition to any collection
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
