Teapot
This is a lovely example of an Antique Sterling Silver Victorian Teapot. It is of a pear shape and is very decorative with what I can best describe as having plain panels and in each one has a vertical engraved pattern which looks a bit like cracker shapes. It does have a very faint armorial of a lion engraved on one side, but this is so faint that you really can hardly see it. The lid also is very decorative with an engraved pattern in triangular segments and it has a decorative finial. It has a fancy spout which has an embossed shell shape to the top. It has a brown wooden handle and the circular pedestal base has a wavy rim. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks.
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1841
Makers Marks: W.M (William Moulson)
Dimensions: 9 inches long from spout to handle, the body is ;6 inches wide at its widest and it is 7 inches tall. It weighs 692g
Condition: It is in very good condition wtih just one very very minor ding by side of the armorial, but this is very minor
Remarks: This really is a super Victorian antique solid silver 168 year old teapot of a lovely shape and a very good weight. When not in use it makes a lovely display piece.
