Antique Victorian Silver 4 Slice Toast Rack Hallmarked London 1896. It has what I can best describe as heart shaped racks which have a central bar. The handle is of a similar shape to the racks but a lot taller and it stands on 4 ball feet. It is made from a good guage of silver and is therefore of a good weight and it has clear hallmarks
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1896/97
Makers Marks: JTH JHM (Hukin & Heath – John Thomas Hukin John Hartshorne Middleton)
Dimensions: Just under 3.75 inches long, just over 2 inches wide at its widest point and 3.75 inches tall to the top of the handle. It weighs 139g
Condition: It is in very good condition
Remarks: This is a very good antique Victorian solid silver 4 slice toast rack, that would look impressive on breakfast table or tray
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
