Antique Silver Cased Spoon & Fork. This set is also extra special as it comes with letters relating to this set setting out some history and sent between family members, and signed by a J Mainwaring Hall. It also comes with a beautiful hanky which has intertwining letters embroidered on it, but I am afraid that I cannot make them out.

Dimensions: The Fork measures approximately 6 inches long and the spoon measures just under 6 inches long. Both are in very good condition. It weighs a total of 57g. Both the spoon and the fork have lovely floral embossed decorated handles and both still have an oval blank cartouche.
Condition: They come complete in their original torquoise lined case which is in good condition inside but the outside is worn and the hinges at the back keeping both parts together have broken and at the moment the box is being held together by some tape .
Remarks: This beautiful little set would make a lovely Christening Set for a very special person that could be handed down through the generations and with the provenance that comes with this set makes it very special. A super set and not to be missed.
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
