Silver Cigarette Case Latvian 875 Standard
This is a very good Latvian Silver Cigarette Case. It is rectangular in shape and has a gilt interior. It has a red cloured stone inset into the opening push button and it is made from a good guage of thick silver. It has 2 heavily embossed fancy letters of “EK” on the front lid. There is also an etched engraving inside but I am afraid that I cannot make it out
Identifying Marks: It is stamped with a head and “875″ and it also is stamped with the letters “PG”
Dimensions: 3 inches wide, 4 inches long and 0.25 inches deep. It weighs 144g
Condition: Overall it is in good condition with just a few very minor dings and some light surface scratching. Inside, one of the elastic straps is missing one of its metal ends which secures it into the fixed loop but this is very minor
Remarks: A Latvian Russian silver cigarette case that could equally be used as a very good card case
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
