Antique Silver Snuff Box. It is rectangular in shape with a raised line pattern that surrounds all of the body except for a plain blank rectangular cartouche. It has a floral decorative embossed protruding front edge for opening. It has a hinged lid and a gilt lining to the interior. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks.

Makers Marks: T.S (could be Thomas Smith, Thomas Shaw or Thomas Simpson)
Dimensions: Just under 2.75 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 0.5 inches tall. It weighs 67g
Condition: Overall it is in very good condition for its 179 years of age, but the blank cartouche is a little scratched and to one side it has a slightly jagged edge. The gilt interior also has some scratching and if I had to be extrememely critical, the front corner of the lid is a little dented, but this is very minor, but I do try to describe my items as accurately as possible
Remarks: This is a very good antique solid silver snuff box and a nice addition to any collection. It could also be used for a very posh match holder
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
