Silver & Gilt Snuff Box 900 Standard. I can best describe it as basically an oblong shape with the ends being straight and the sides being sloping with cut off edges. It has a diamond shape engine turned decoration to the lid and the base and the flat top part of the lid has a plain band decoration at each end. The sides are plain and it has a gilt interior.
Identifying Marks: It is stamped “900″ there is also another mark but this is rubbed and I cannot make it out but I would say that it was quite possibly be a bird
Dimensions: 2 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 0.5 inch deep. It weighs (38g)
Condition: Overall it is in very good condition but there are just 2 very very minor pin prick dings to the sides but these are very small
Remarks: A very nice silver snuff box that could be used as a pill box
Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in “as new condition”.
